HBO Max unveils the official trailer for the final season of LIKE WATER FOR CHOCOLATE, an HBO Original series produced by Ventanarosa Productions, under the executive production of Salma Hayek Pinault. This season marks the conclusion of an iconic love story, delivering a deeper emotional charge and a narrative that intertwines with passion, the magic of cooking, and magical realism.
Following the international success of its first season, which ranked among the most-watched titles on the platform globally, LIKE WATER FOR CHOCOLATE returns with a new installment that delves further into the dilemmas of forbidden love, wounds from the past, and the pursuit of desire and freedom. The trailer offers a first look at a season shaped by difficult decisions, rekindled passions, and destinies put to the test, accompanied by the iconic “Cucurrucucú Paloma”, performed by Latin American artist Gaby Moreno, who is part of the series’ soundtrack.
The story resumes just days after the end of the first season. Tita, deeply affected by loss and confinement, finds in Dr. Brown the possibility of a different future, where calm and tenderness emerge as a real alternative. However, Pedro’s return reignites a passion that defies family mandates, traditions, and social rules. In a Mexico marked by the changes and tensions of its time, each character must confront their own limits and make decisions that will define their fate.
Through Tita’s dishes, magical realism manifests as an intimate and powerful force that connects the deepest emotions with the extraordinary. In this season, fire joins the story as a new narrative symbol, intensifying the drama and emotional pulse of the series.
The cast is led by Irene Azuela (Mamá Elena), Azul Guaita (Tita de la Garza), Ana Valeria Becerril (Rosaura de la Garza), Andrea Chaparro (Gertrudis de la Garza), Andrés Baida (Pedro Múzquiz), Francisco Angelini (Dr. Brown), Ángeles Cruz (Nacha), Mauricio García Lozano (Don Pedro Múzquiz), Ari Brickman (Felipe Múzquiz), and Louis David Horné (Juan Alejandrez), who bring to life a choral story marked by emotional intensity and the complexity of its relationships.
