São Paulo, May 17, 2022 – PCC: SECRET POWER, the four-episode original documentary series premieres on May 26, exclusively on HBO Max. Based on the book Irmãos: Uma História do PCC, by Gabriel Feltran, and directed by Joel Zito Araújo, the Max Original production tells about the historic rise of the criminal faction, takes a behind-the-scenes look at the prison environment and highlights the musical culture that reflects a reality hidden by society.

Originating in São Paulo, the First Capital Command (PCC) has criminal dominance in the largest state in Brazil and continues to expand rapidly across the country. Each 45-minutes episode presents an unprecedented overview of the criminal group in chronological order, from their foundation to the present day.

With interviews from former prison guards, ex-gang members, relatives, authorities, among others, PCC: SECRET POWER narrates the story from the point of view of the "brothers" themselves, who reveal their inner rationale, codes of conduct and structures. The series features iconic musical productions licensed from Racionais MCs, 509-E, Evandro Babá and MC Orelha.

Directed by Joel Zito Araújo, produced by Gustavo Mello, with executive production from Adriana Gaspar, writing by Guilherme César and Diogo Leite da Silva and editing by Lia Kulakauskas, the documentary series is a co-production from Warner Bros. Discovery and Boutique Filmes. The Max Original production is based on the extensive research led by Daniel Veloso Hirata, William Alves Neves and Thais Nunes, in addition to the work of Gabriel Feltran.
