HBO's new original series comes to life in one of the most iconic neighborhoods in Mexico City.
Mexico City, February 15th, 2022 - AMSTERDAM, the new Mexican original series arrives to HBO Max and HBO screens this March. The story recounts the rocky relationship of a unique couple going through difficult times as they unexpectedly meet a new friend who will be decisive for the future of their relationship: a beautiful puppy.
AMSTERDAM tells the story of Nadia and Martín as they try to make it in the art scene of La Condensa, a cosmopolitan neighborhood in Mexico City, where tradition meets a mainstream, modern and bohemian way of life.
The way in which the lives of the main characters develop on Amsterdam Street becomes a metaphor for the meaning of their own existence.
With a fresh tone, the series illustrates a portrait of the challenging themes that this generation faces: personal aspirations above love; casual relationships and how the affection for pets is so strong that they become part of the family; in addition to social networks as another voice in the conversation.
The series stars Mexican actress Naian González Norvind and Sebastián Buitrón, and is headed by Gustavo Taretto who serves as writer and director. AMSTERDAM’s ten 30-minute episodes lead viewers through different experiences and emotions, hand in hand with a great soundtrack that becomes a fundamental narrative thread of the story.
AMSTERDAM is a WarnerMedia production for HBO and HBO Max.
