Miami, FL, January 27, 2021AMONGST MEN, the dramatic Argentinian miniseries based on the novel of the same name by Germán Maggiori, was one of the two Latin American series selected by the Berlin International Film Festival for its Berlinale Series market. This is the first time that the Festival presents content from Latin America. The 2021 edition of Berlinale Series will be a virtual event taking place from March 1-5.

According to the festival, “AMONGST MEN, a modern classic in four episodes by director Pablo Fendrik with breathtaking timing, shows the eponymous male world in its most brutal facets; as a game of violence, aversion and power. The homage to the aesthetics of the 1990s celebrates and challenges its chosen genre as well as the world it depicts.”

Set in the 1990s in Buenos Aires, AMONGST MEN transports the audience to the underworld of crime, presenting an urban landscape in turmoil, marked by intense violence and moral, political and social decomposition.

The plot is based on the cult novel by Germán Maggiori, with a stellar cast led by Gabriel Goity, Nicolás Furtado, Diego Velázquez, Diego Cremonesi and Claudio Rissi. Produced by HBO Latin America together with Pol-ka, the miniseries is directed by Pablo Fendrik, with a script by Germán Maggiori himself, in collaboration with Fendrik.

AMONGST MEN is executive produced by Luis F. Peraza, Roberto Rios and Paul Drago on behalf of HBO Latin America, as well as Adrián Suar and Diego Andrasnik on behalf of Pol-Ka.
