Vgly risks everything for what drives him, with no turning back.
The second season of VGLY, the Warner Bros. Discovery Max Original series produced by Exile Studio, reaches its season finale with the release of its last episode, “Dead Homies Riding Ponies,” now streaming exclusively on HBO Max.
“Yesterday I was talking with a friend about immediacy, hype, and how hard it is to keep the world’s attention. With so much content out there, it’s incredibly rewarding when stories like VGLY manage to connect so deeply with people. In the end, the show is just a pretext to ignite their creative fuel and push them to do things they might have thought they couldn’t; they just needed a little nudge. Thank you for being part of the HBO Max family and for continuing to join us in this story made for you.” – said Benny Emmanuel.
After Ceviches’ murder, Vgly, Bubble, and Jenny return to Esther’s house, trying to process what happened as the news spreads and the case begins to draw public attention. However, apparent freedom doesn’t mean peace, as a call from Antonia soon alerts Vgly to a new danger.
Data and Flex arrive at Esther’s house to make sure Vgly is okay, but the situation makes it clear that everything is about to blow up. With Antonia’s help, Vgly manages to enter the studio to recover his material; still, in a desperate impulse, he ends up stealing all of CAOS’s content, triggering a confrontation with no way back. After a goodbye kiss, Antonia faces Vgly with an unavoidable truth:
“We only hurt each other, and it’s time to end something that never should have happened.”
With the crew fractured, Vgly and Data plan to leak CAOS Records’ material before Luciana hands it over to Leland, but tensions rise when Bubble accidentally reveals key information. Confident in her position, Luciana threatens to go to the police if Vgly doesn’t return what he took. Under pressure, Vgly (influenced by Ceviches’ words) decides to meet with Luciana on his own terms.
Meanwhile, each member of the crew follows their own path: Flex travels with Capo to Japan, Bubble looks for Jenny, and Data starts a project with Triana. With the group completely scattered, Vgly bets it all on one final attempt to release his album, even if it means losing everything. “Dead Homies Riding Ponies” closes the season with an open ending that leaves the future of Vgly, his music, and his crew in an uncertain place.
