HBO ANNOUNCES THE FILMING OF THE NEW SERIES “O NEGÓCIO”

Sao Paulo, Brazil, June 11 2012 – HBO Latin America announced that it will begin filming the new Brazilian original series O Negócio (The Business) this month. Set in the high-class, luxurious city of Sao Paulo, this is the fifth national series that HBO produces in the country since 2004 that will be broadcasted throughout Latin America.  

The series follows the lives of three sophisticated young women: Karin (Rafaela Mandelli), Luna (Juliana Schalch), and Magali (Michelle Batista), who unite forces to make a drastic change professionally.  In the city of Sao Paulo, where 60 perfect of the country’s millionaires live, they identify a potential market to conduct business in and profit from with the world’s oldest profession.   

In O Negócio, these beautiful, well dressed, and college educated women improve their business by applying solid business administration skills and marketing fundamentals.  Names like Kotler, Taylor, and Levit, are the leading prototypes of the “marketing” literature, which serve as an inspiration for these female professionals to create their business plan.   

The series will be produced by HBO Latin America Originals, and filmed by the independent production company, Mixer.  Created by Luca Paiva Mello and Rodrigo Castillo, the series consists of 13 hour-long episodes, and will be filmed in various locations around the city of Sao Paulo.
