The documentary THE INVENTOR: OUT FOR BLOOD IN SILICON VALLEY, debuts on Monday, July 1 on HBO.
THE INVENTOR examines the rise and fall of Elizabeth Holmes and her multi-billion-dollar healthcare technology company, Theranos. Through deception, Holmes became a great success, and provided hope for many. She was a brilliant storyteller and media handler, and a well-spoken, attractive, intelligent woman able to convince the public, government officials, and corporate titans alike, about her ‘revolutionary’ blood-testing device.
Through never-before-seen footage, and newly created 3-D graphics, director Alex Gibney, takes viewers behind the scenes on how Holmes’ was a fraud from the start. Viewers are able to see how Theranos rigged test results, defrauded investors, and how her non-disclosure agreements prevented employees form being truthful.
