MIAMI, FL. January 28th, 2021 – HBO announces the premiere of the second season of the Spanish series THE PLAGUE, which will hit public screens in Latin America from Monday, February 22nd exclusively on HBO and HBO GO. Times per country visit Hbocaribbean.com
The new season, which was recorded entirely in Andalusia, will consist of six 45-minute episodes. The first two were directed by Alberto Rodríguez and the remaining four by David Ulloa.
Five years after the last great plague epidemic, Seville has managed to recover. It continues to maintain the monopoly of trade with the Indies and its prosperity is increasing. But population growth skyrockets reaching record highs. The government is not able to feed its inhabitants or assuring them minimal assistance services. Social discontent grows and crystallizes in the birth of La Garduña, organized crime, which has taken control of the city.
The main cast led by Pablo Molinero (Mateo), Sergio Castellanos (Valerio), Patricia López Arnáiz (Teresa), Jesús Carroza (Baeza) and Cecilia Gómez (Eugenia), are joined by Federico Aguado (Pontecorvo) who will give life to the new assistant of the city and the first politician of the time, Luis Callejo (Conrado) and Estefania de los Santos (María de la O).
Created by Alberto Rodríguez and Rafael Cobos, THE PLAGUE has a technical team of professionals with a brilliant cinematographic career and numerous Goya® Awards.
