MIAMI, FL., September 24, 2020 – Two HBO Latin America productions were nominated today for the 2020 International Emmy® Awards: The second season of the Argentinian production THE BRONZE GARDEN was nominated in the Drama Series category, and REFAVELA 40, the documentary about Brazilian music icon Gilberto Gil and his classic album, will compete in the Arts Programming category.
THE BRONZE GARDEN, starring Joaquín Furriel, follows the story of Fabián Danubio, the architect who spent years desperately searching for his lost daughter, Moira. In the second season, Fabián takes on the role of an investigator, exclusively devoting himself to a case the Detective César Doberti had left unsolved to focus solely on finding Moira.Directed by Hernán Goldfrid and Pablo Fendrik, the series was written by Gustavo Malajovich - author of the bestselling novel “El Jardín de Bronce,” which inspired the first season of the series - and Marcos Osorio Vidal. THE BRONZE GARDEN is produced by Luis F. Peraza, Roberto Rios and Paul Drago, from HBO Latin America Originals, and Adrián Suar and Diego Andrasnik, from Pol-Ka. REFAVELA 40 celebrates four decades of the iconic and historic LP “Refavela” by internationally-acclaimed Brazilian musician Gilberto Gil. The documentary is produced by Roberto Rios, Eduardo Zaca, Patrícia Carvalho and Rafaella Giannini, from HBO Latin America Originals, and Gustavo Baldoni, Renata Brandão and Mini Kerti from Conspiração, in partnership with Gege. The film was produced with resources from Condecine - Article 39 (“Provisional Measure No. 2,228 - 1 of September 6, 2001, Article 39 ”). Directed by Mini Kerti, the documentary was created by Bem Gil, Flora Gil and Andrea Franco, and is distributed exclusively by HBO Latin America. REFAVELA 40 is also available on HBO GO.
